Six people needed emergency surgery
Thirteen people have been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a smoking shelter in Porthcawl in the early hours of this morning. Emergency service crews were called to the scene outside Streets Nightclub on John Street just after 1:00am. The Welsh Ambulance Service deployed 13 vehicles to the scene and ten people, aged between 17 and 43 years old, were taken to hospital. None of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening. A 24-year-old man from Porthcawl has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving.

Ryan Ford, 24, is accused of causing serious injury whilst driving, driving without insurance, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, drink-driving and theft. He is due to appear before Bridgend magistrates court this afternoon.
